Photographs taken from the window of the 42 Bus Route in Manchester by Claire Wray
I had the idea of hopping on the bus and pointing my camera out the window. I didn’t have to walk and I had a fleeting yet fabulous view of the City.
The 42 bus route passes through one of the busiest bus corridors in Europe.
The mile stretch along Oxford Road has a timetabled bus of every 30 seconds.. in both directions.
The 40 minute journey was described as ‘chaotic, stressful and unpleasant’ by the Parliamentary Transport committee.. and I couldn‘t agree more. Infact, focussing on what is on the other side of the window is the healthiest thing you can do!
The 6 mile stretch between Didsbury and the City Centre connects the Suburbs with Universities, Hospitals, The infamous ‘Curry Mile’ in Rusholme as well as Parks and Churches that just about made it into Morrissey lyrics."
