Abstract Almost 20 years have passed since the opening of the first exhibition (1971; at that time it was called "Biennial"). During these two decades - and now trimphant statitics might follow: the creations of how many artists., how many countries were to be seen at the Palace of Exhibitions. Instead of this, let us be content with the fact that it were many. If somebody were yet curious of dates, he/she would have to multiply the number of countries with which the Hungarian (People's) Republic has been in diplomatic relation, by 72. (of one country maximum four artists could participate, each of them with four works maximum. In 1990, nearly 40 countries have sent their material.) thsi system gave by all means, opportunity to the Hungarian public, to see from time to time good sculptures and objects of foreign artists, and to honour some Hungarian sculptors, at the same time.
