This Trust Idea blends a diverse cross-section of found material to playfully explore the intersection of trust, coercion and democracy. Initiated by early observations that the nations who dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic most successfully were those who had the highest levels of trust between their citizens and institutions, and those nations with the worst infection rates were those where the levels of public trust were at their lowest – places where nobody believes their politicians nor their newspapers.
This Trust Idea presents a playful and provocative layering of complexity intended to be consumed collectively and discussed at length afterwards.
The project includes a 30 minute video and is a co-commission between Allenheads Contemporary Arts’ CALL CENTRE residency and The Star and Shadow Cinema MICRO PROJECT COMMISSIONS - both initiated in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. |
