Description

Tactile images, technology and language’s flaws inspire Antoine Catala who creates relationships between those elements or diverts them, for a poetical purpose.

Antoine Catala was born in Toulouse (France) in 1975 and now lives and works in New-York (United States of America).

Both in his wit and video-sculptures, Antoine Catala is inspired by language’s imperfections, the physicality of pictures and their tactile aspects ; he uses accidents and technology, holograms, 3D printers and morphing.

His art creates a relationship between images, language, signs, logos, atmospheres and extensions.

Antoine Catala reproduces television and internet’s mechanisms, highly inspired to turn them into something poetic. The artist deliberatly finds new ways of linking reality to images and language.

On the occasion of the exhibition at the MAC of Lyon, Antoine Catala transforms a whole story of the museum with his installation Jardin synthétique à l’isolement
