Abstract Architypes presents the work of six artists: two Canadian, two Japanses and two Australian. Each artists produces work that makes reference to architecture and interior design. The exhibition and publication examine the various ways artists from different areas and cultural histories of the Pacific rim reflect on and question architecture, interior design and their influence on domestic and social spaces. This project is a collaboration between three curatots: Greg Bellerby from Charles H. Scott Gallery at teh Emily Carr Institute, Felicity Fenner from the Ivan Dougherty Gallery at the university of New South Wales in Sydney, and Makiko Hara, an independent curator working in Japan and Canada.
