Screening/Readings: Emma Bolland
Artist Emma Bolland will screen two short films alongside performed readings of companion texts that function as their ‘dislocated screenplays’.

The Is Of The Thing (lectophobia mix) 2015, uses moving image and stills of books as collage and sculpture to explore fears of reading and our problematic relationships with books, writing and reading.

Lectolatia (a romance) 2015, was made in partnership with the Leeds College of Art and Design Library, as part of their ‘Library Interventions’ programme. Focusing on the sensual aspect of our relationship with books – reading and writing as a love affair with printed texts - it is intended as a companion piece to The Is Of The Thing.
