Description

BALTIC is delighted to present the second BALTIC Artists’ Award, a worldwide biennial art award judged solely by artists. Three internationally renowned artist-judges, Lubaina Himid, Michael Rakowitz and Haegue Yang, have each selected an artist who has the opportunity to realise new work which will be seen in this four-month exhibition.

Kang Jungsuck (born 1984, Seoul, South Korea) makes videos, sculptures, installations and self-published books which explore the intersection of the real and the virtual. Interested in the gaming industry, and drawing from his own everyday experiences of the digital realm, Kang creates environments which explore multiple realities using video and gaming technology and fabricated objects. Selected by Haegue Yang.

For this BALTIC Bites video Jungsuck is interviewed by Haegue Yang.
