Abstract Following the example of Tate, whose current logo incorporates all branches of the museum into one corporate brand, Baltic has dispensed with the use of a definite article. also excised from the title are such cumbersome and non-user friendly words as 'museum' or 'gallery', allowing the floating brand name to be more easily attached to official franchises like magazines, restaurants and cafes.
