In our opening speech on the seventeenth of October we expressed the hope that Body Act would become something of an open conference, with and on performance art. We are very happy to be able to say that the hard work of the artists and everyone else involved was rewarded well beyond our hopes.
Body Act was an international performance weekend in Malmo, the seventeenth-eighteenth of October 1998. It was done on collaboration with Malmo Konsthall and Kulturforeningen Ocean. Årtists and lecturers from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA paricipated. The artists invited work with performance in many different ways. Performances today includes a very wide range of different expressions. We wanted to elucidate this. |
