Theta Rhythm

28 SEPTEMBER 2012 - 6 JANUARY 2013

The first solo exhibition in the UK of Yugoslav-born Bojan Fajfrić includes the major recent work Theta Rhythm 2010. A film and installation, it examines the intersection between personal and collective memory. The film is a painstaking reconstruction of a day in the life of the artist’s father, an administrator for Belgrade’s City Committee, who was present at the infamous 8th Session, over which Slobodan Milosević presided. The meeting is considered by many to be a turning point that contributed to the rise of nationalism in Serbia and subsequently plunged the country into war and economic distress up to the NATO bombings in 1999.
