Bonnie Camplin’s first comprehensive solo show focuses upon the industrial development of Middlesbrough in the 19th century and the artist’s interest in the continuing narrative of the campaign for women’s rights. Published on the occasion of the exhibition held July 16-November 14, 2009 at mima, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art. Includes bibliographical references, an introduction by Kate Brindley and essays 'The Invented Life' by Fanny Paul Clinton and 'Dictum meum pactum' by Rebecca Bligh.
