Abstract |
British Art has been a cource of increasing interest in the exhibitions of contemporary art during recent years. In Germany, Italy, Spain, and also partly in France and America, contemporary art is often characterized by a distinctive national flavour, whereas British art is of a diverse, international nature due to historical and geopolitical reasons. On the other hand, in what seems like a contradiction of the previous statement, there are also signs that British art has preserved a certain individuality, a national character in an artistic climate that is becoming increasingly international. |
