The ‘Chandless Lives’ project celebrated the personal memories and stories of the people who lived on the Chandless Estate in Gateshead, which had been built in the 1960’s and was about to be demolished.
The project resulted in an exhibition and a book containing work by photographer Sharon Bailey and drawings and paintings by Robert Soden.
Now, a new online resource called ‘Spirit of Chandless’ is about to be launched and former Chandless residents are being invited to join artists Stevie Ronnie and Sharon Bailey to see how their stories and images are displayed within this.
The two artists have collected a wealth of information, stories and photos to create a resource to archive, interpret and capture the heritage of the Chandless area in Gateshead. |
