Exhibition catalogue for the Artist (painter) Christopher Orr (born: 1967) Exhibition: 'Of Both Worlds' IBID projects, London, 10 October - 28 November 2004 IBID Projects is pleased to present Christopher Orr's second solo show. "Of both worlds" consists of six small paintings. The main subject of these works is the relationship between the world of reverie and "Naturgefuhl" (nature feeling) and the tradition of landscape painting. The protagonists of Orr's paintings awkwardly inhabit solemn landscapes and dark unknowable spaces. With emotional restraint and neat clothing, they appear vulnerable and lost. These amateur naturalists become the involuntary actors in the timeless supernatural ritual. |
