Description

Daniel Buren is one of France’s most renowned contemporary artists. His main focus since the 1980s has been on the architecture of spaces where he works, querying, defining and transforming.

In 2015, as part of the Ruhrfestspiele (Ruhr Festival), he will show off the entrance hall of Recklinghausen’s Festspielhaus by attaching pieces of coloured film to the large glass facade.

The facade of the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen will also be transformed using coloured film: the 28 panes of glass will then be illuminated from within. Both locations will be transformed and new experience spaces will be created.

Published alongside the exhibtion Daniel Buren: Two Works for Recklinghausen, 1 May – 26 July 2015, Kunstausstellung der Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen 2015, Festspielhaus und Kunsthalle Recklinghausen.
