Don't Calm Down
Library Shelf Location ZINE-S
Publication Date 2022
Description

Don't Calm Down is a pamphlet stitched zine, with a screen-printed light weight cover made up of photocopied pages. It is the creation of a group of young people from Durham Sixth Form College taking part in an after-college series of 6 workshops delivered by members of Stand Up To Racism North East. Inspired by the booklet 'African Lives in Northern England' the group explored aspects of racism and anti-racist activists both past and present using discussion and creative production. The workshops culminated in a collective zine, drawing together reflections, statements, understanding and visual interpretation.
