Description |
The arts and cultural sector are at a crossroads. Since 1997 arts provision has been extended and has developed new and innovative approaches to engagement with all levels of society. This has been supported by record increases in spending from government, local government, the Lottery and corporate doners. However, in the current financial climate tought choices will have to be made. This book argues that the arts can no longer rely on advocacy but must begin to develop a robust evidence base that underpins the unique contribution that the arts can make to society.
This book explores the impact of investment in the arts on wider social goals, especially in the areas of education, mental health, communtiy cohesion and offender rehabilitation. |
