"In August 2017 we used the summer break to write a manifesto for Foundation Press. The manifesto was then printed in a set of four posters, printed on an A2 risograph machine at the Charles Nypels Lab, Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, Netherlands. We used a photocopier, an A3 scanner, iPhone camera, black ink and other items to hand in the riso studio to make the collages combining our Instagram feed #boatoftheweek with a typeface entitled FP Titling, designed especially for Foundation Press by An Endless Supply. Whilst we made these collages we drank peppermint tea and discussed the content of our manifesto and what it means to have a website, a specially made font or to have a risograph press.
Foundation Press is an experiment printing press set up by artists originally teaching together on the Foundation Art and Design course at the University of Sunderland (UK). It operates as a space for testing collaborative approaches to design, printmaking and publishing, inspired by the interdisciplinary and fast-paced environment of the Foundation course it developed out of.
