Hewitt & Jordan are engaged with investigating systems of power within the public domain. This publication maps three recent projects exploring the artists' current engagement in issues of regeneration, urban planning and commissioning. It includes: Show Flat (2003), the conversion of the artists’ studio space into a two-roomed apartment; Outside Artspace (2001-2) in which the artists developed a regeneration strategy and urban design directive for the Devonshire Quarter of Sheffield, and Winner (2002) the artists’ investigative trip to the 12 British cities bidding to be European Capital of Culture 2008." |
