Description This publication is aimed at anyone embarking on an audience development project. It celebrates the learning, which arose from all the 35 new audience action research projects that took place from 2001 to 2002. The defining factor in all the projects is that people are different in many ways. Therefore the publication can not tell you absolutely everything about your audience but it can provide a valuable insight into how to find out for yourself. The first section of the publication identifies the ‘light bulb’ moments experienced by those taking part in the New Audiences projects. It includes planning points relating to each section and snapshot case studies. The second part of the publication focuses on the Toolkit, which includes some of the pitfalls, a ten-point plan for developing an action research project and a list of suggestions for getting help.
