SInce the early 1990s, the Frac has been developing a policy aimed at the most ground- breaking emerging art work. Ami Baral, who directed the Frac from 1993 to 2002, was quick to turn his sights on the Glasgow scene, the wealth of which is now familiar to us all. Several works by Scottish artists with experimental and critical attitudes were then added to the collection, which in turn led to the exhibitions in Montpellier. Jaqueline Donachie's The Hoping Room was this acquired by the Frac in 1997, and the artists was subsequently invited in October 2002 for her first solo show in France. |
