A public talk by James Bridle, artist and author of The New Dark Age – Technology and the End of the Future (Verso, 2018) in relation to the exhibition Digital Citizen - The Precarious Subject.

The talk will consider how technology advances and becomes increasingly networked and integrated with our daily lives, what are the implications for the rise of Artificial Intelligence, the proliferation of fake news and what happens if we reach zero trust.

Introduction by BALTIC Curator, Alessandro Vincentelli and a question and answer session where the audience are invited to contribute.

Artist Biography: James Bridle James Bridle is a British artist and writer based in Athens, Greece. His artworks have been commissioned by galleries and institutions and exhibited worldwide as well as on the internet. His writing on literature, culture and networks has appeared in magazines and newspapers, including Wired, Domus, Cabinet, TheAtlantic, New Statesman, The Guardian, Observer and many others, in print and online. He lectures regularly at conferences, universities and events. His formulation of the New Aesthetic research project has spurred debate and creative work across multiple disciplines.
