A study of the remarkable ancient tract commonly known as Jikji, a Korean Buddhist spiritual guide produced in Cheonju in 1377, making it the earliest example of printing from movable metal types in existence. Predating Gutenberg's Bible by more than three quarters of a centurym the work is preserved in a single, incomplete copy in the National Library of France, Paris.
