Made in collaboration with West Yorkshire Queer Stories and Sage

"Collecting memories and experiences is at the heart of the West Yorkshire Queer Stories Project. For too long the histories of LGBTIQ+ communities have been ignored or overlooked, but we aim to change that. In collaboration with Sage, the network for older LGBT people in Leeds, and volunteer Ruth Middleton we decided to mark the International Day of Older Persons with a special event.

In October 2018 we gathered at Leeds City Museum with zine maker Kirsty Fife, bringing older and younger LGBTIQ+ people together to share stories of things they'd fought for, acheived and challenged over the years. By listening to each other and passing stories, greater understanding develops between people, friendships are formed and communities are strengthened."
