Perhaps the most symbolically or emotionally loaded offering by Langlands & Bell in recent years is the multi-media project for which the pair has been short-listed for this year's Turner Prize. The House of Osama bin Laden was researched over two weeks in Afghanistan in October 2002. This complex work comprises digital interactive video of a house once occupied by the al-Qa'ida leader, still photographs, flags depicting the logos of international non-governmental organisations based in Kabul, and a short edited film of a trial in the Afghan supreme court. |
