Description |
The exhibition concerns one of the most monumental and incongruous statues in the British Isles. The Duke of Sutherland on the Summit of the Beinn Bhragaidh above Golspie, is a memorial to the most powerful, ruthless and notorious of the "Clearance landlords" of the 19th Century. An affront to many, it is nonetheless an unyielding reminder of the collective trauma of the clearances. |
