Mansions of the Future: A Public Programme
Library Shelf Location 07.CAMP
Publication Date 2021
Description

Mansions of the Future was a three-year (2017-2020) Ambitions for Excellence funded arts and cultural hub in Lincoln City Centre, brought to life through a free public programme of national and international artistic commissions, exhibitions, communal lunches, conferences, talks workshops and family activities.

Developed and edited as a key legacy outcome by MotF Artistic Director Kerry Campbell, this publication captures the project’s uniquely social, site-specific and collaborative approach to commissioning. Unfolding through seasons of activity and featuring contributions from academics, curators, musicians, artists, volunteers, staff and local people as well as co-founder Clare Cumberlidge, Mansions of the Future: A Public Programme situates the project’s ambitious, interdisciplinary public programme within broader critical conversations around curating and co-authorship, cultural value, power and democracy as well as the civic potential of arts and cultural organisations.

Featuring contributions from Kerry Campbell, Clare Cumberlidge, Kathrin Böhm, Beth Lambert, Jo Tolley, Sunshine Wong, Ruth Beale, Bahia Shebab, Stephi Hemelryk Donald, Dr. Andrew Jackson, ON/OFF Collective, Lauren Velvick, Andrea Luka Zimmerman, Paul Sng, Alicja Rogalska, Colette Griffin, Calum Bayne, Haich Ber Na, Natasha Davis, Jane Olson, and Linda Rocco. This is a non profit publication, with all proceeds going back into public projects.
