Working together as performance duo, French artist Marie Cool and Italian Fabio Balducci present a series of simple, non-spectacular actions, which last a few minutes and more often than not use everyday objects.
'The fragility of situations, the 'almost nothing' bring in a sensation of suspension and uncertainty that thus creates a tension throughout the performance. We use the term sequence, borrowed from film language, to describe these short actions, in which, through a slow zoom-in, the spectator is led to a close-up on her/his own experience. We are trying to work on the very place of memory where the image is directly formed.' |
