Noemie Goudal: Haven Her Body Was

Noemie Goudal: Haven Her Body Was
Library Shelf Location 18.GOUD
Publication Date 2012
Description Noemie Goudal's photographic images document the artist's interventions in the natural landscape and installations constructed within manmade environments. Her compositions juxtapose man-made structures and rural spaces, challenging our perceptions of the 'real' and 'organic', and the delicate relationships that societies develop with the surrounding world. Dislocated from any sense of familiarity, Goudal captures foreign, autonomous spaces, defying the spatio-temporal constraints of the photographic medium. Goudal graduated the Royal College of Art photography MA with distinction in 2010. Her work has been published in the British Journal of Photography, Time Out, HotShoe, Vogue and Creative Review. Goudal's work is included major international collections including the Fotomuseum Winterthur, Conran Foundation and the David Roberts Art Foundation. She has had solo exhibitions in 2010 at HotShoe Gallery in London and in Milan, and has a solo exhibition with Edel Assanti in 2012. Awards include Leica Prize (2010) and FujiFilm Merit Student Award (2007). Goudal lives and works in London.
