Description

In the Spring 2020 issue of RA Magazine, novelist Sarah Dunant tells the story of Wilhelm Hansen, who scooped works by Monet, Manet, Courbet and Gauguin to build one of the great collections of French Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings outside France. And as masterpieces from Hansen’s collection arrive at the RA, four contemporary painters respond to a handful of star works.

Also in this issue, an original short story by John Banville inspired by a Bonnard painting; the RA’s two new leaders Axel Rüger and Rebecca Salter PRA in conversation; nightwalking and the art of Léon Spilliaert, and a trip to the Nairobi garden studio of painter Michael Armitage.
