Rachel Goodyear: Catching Sight

Rachel Goodyear: Catching Sight
Library Shelf Location 18.GOOD
Publication Date 2017
Description

The New Art Gallery Walsall is delighted to present this new publication celebrating a brand new body of work by Rachel Goodyear. The publication accompanies her exhibition Catching Sight.

Goodyear is renowned particularly for her works on paper which represent compelling yet unsettling dream-like scenarios, reflecting on the dark recesses of the human psyche and the elusive nature of memory.

Though still rooted in her love of drawing, her new works introduce a greater freedom of experimentation with a range of materials such as ink, watercolour and collage as well as pencil and charcoal.

She has also pushed the boundaries of her practice to experiment with scale, producing new works on paper, sculpture and an immersive film installation with sound.

Accompanies the exhibition, Rachel Goodyear: Catching Sight at The New Art Gallery Walsall, West Midlands, UK (26 May – 3 September 2017).
