Artist Aaron Hughes returns to BALTIC with special guests Syrian Kings and GemArts to listen to their record, Poetry Despite/Music Despite (Eternal War Requiem), produced as part of BALTIC Artists' Award 2019.

Aaron discusses his collaborative project Poetry Despite/Music Despite (Eternal War Requiem) and it's connection with his ongoing Tea Project.

Aaron Hughes (born 1982, Waukegan, IL, USA) is an artist, activist, organiser, teacher, and Iraq War veteran based in Chicago. Hughes works collaboratively with a range of artists, veterans, activists, art organizations and projects, operating in diverse spaces and media. His work seeks out and shares the poetic connections that bind us together, reveal our shared humanity and make meaning out of personal and collective trauma. He was selected for BALTIC Artists' Award 2019 by Michael Rakowitz.
