Description |
Screen Memories consists of works by the 16 artists and filmakers mentioned. While each peice of work stands on its own, the exhibition as a whole is conceived as a series (serie) of images from all the works exhibited. The works are not confined to their own physical spatial territory, and their images overlap so as to become intensified over the course of time. They eventually form a serie which, at its extremity, is replaced by another chain of images. We all have our own fillm archives in our memory, and are aware that they serve as a source of meta-images. In this exhibition, the series of images provided by the works can synchronize with the audiences huge archive of memories, and the entire exhibition space will turn into a sort of Theatre of Memories. The audiences is invited to actively participate in its performance in order to develop all the possibilities inherent in the exhibition, pouring a new, fresh life into each work. It is the viewer who is assigned the leading role in the exhibition, presented as a screen. |
