Description |
Specially commissioned to accompany the exhibition Hit and Miss at Modern Art Oxford by artists Simon and Tom Bloor, and to mark the Big Draw campaign.
Taking the form of a child’s drawing book, it characteristically brings together the artists’ interest in the interplay between text and image, graphic composition and the history of poster design. Evoking a nostalgia associated with the public information campaigns of the 1970s and 1980s, the Bloors’ open-ended questions and propositions strike a balance between instruction and play, humour and puzzlement, whilst at the same time framing the potential of how we might envision a new world, new structures and new realities through the child’s imagination. |
