A collection of short films developed through Northern Film and Media's Stingers Scheme where writers, directors and writer/directors can see their work on screen and develop their professional experience by working with a production company in the North East region to create short digital film.
The scheme, run in partnership with UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund, has acted as a launch pad for some of the most promising talent in the region with many of the writers, director and producers going on to have successful careers in the industry. Previous Stingers filmmakers have gone on to win international awards at Venice and Berlin, whilst others have had work premiered at the Edinburgh and London International Film Festivals.
