Abstract |
One of the problems in examining Clement Greenberg (1909-1994) and his critical legacy remains the fact that he was such a polarising figure in the artworld for many years, such that frequently the responses his writings elicited conflate aesthetic and personal disagreements. In his reflective and informative introduction to 'Clement Greenberg: Late Writings' editor Robert C Morgan attempts to provide a more balanced portrayal of Greenberg as critic than is generally available. |
