The fourth Marmite Prize for Painting exhibition will open on Wednesday 22nd May. The exhibition runs from 20th May to 14th June 2013. This is the fourth exhibition of the Marmite Prize IV exhibition tour, and the final before it’s finale at Tannery Arts, London. Marmite Prize IV will showcase 32 artists selected from almost 850 entries by representatives from each of the galleries of the exhibition tour. The shortlisted artists are diverse and international, from Amsterdam (Jana van Meerveld), Greece (Eleni Zagkali), France (Yifat Gat
and Marie d’Elbee), Germany (Silvie Jacobi), Ireland (Damien Flood), South Korea (Hyojun Hyun), and New York (Blake Shirley), and all across the UK. The winner will receive a specially commissioned ‘marmite’, made and donated by distinguished artist Richard Wentworth, recently Professor of Sculpture at the Royal College of Art.

This year’s Marmite Prize exhibition is dedicated to former artist collective BANK, informing the exhibition hang: anonymous collective The Almighty have created an installation in the spirit of BANK’s Zombie Golf and contributed the catalogue text. Their ‘Vampire Games’ installation will be incarnated differently at each venue of the tour: for The Gallery at Plymouth College of Art the game will be Bowls. |
