| Abstract |
The third Western States Exhibition celebrates the latest colaboration between the Western Sates Arts Foundation and one of the country's finest art institutions in providing a selection of the West's best contemporary art to the nation. Since the exhibition series began in 1978, the Western States Arts Foundation has combined resources with prestigious museums throughout the country. The Corcoran Gallery of Art, National Museum of American Art, and The Denver Art Museum have all particpated in teh shows organization. Numerous other institutions throghout teh country have hosted the bold, engaging exhibitions. For this the third exhibition, the Foundation has had the pleasure of working with The Brooklyn Museum to organise an impressive showing of work by forty five of the regions painters, phoyographers, and sculptors. |
