Description |
Forty artists have been invited to attack Kunsthal Charlottenborg's great white walls, distributed among 15 five metres tall galleries. Armed with paint, brush, pencil, ballpoint pen, marker pen etc. the artists pounce upon each their wall in the galleries. With the tools at hand, the artists each draw or paint on an appointed wall, given utterly free reins, with the one condition that they work directly on and with the wall. Where one artist stops and the next one begins, they arrange amongst themselves in the course of the process.
Each individual artist unreservedly decides how much of the wall area is part of his or her work. Thus the result will show anything from subtle little mechanical pencil drawings that force the viewer up close to the surface to great broad brushstrokes which transform the room into a painterly installation affecting the whole body.
