Kinetic sculpture has always irritated the purists. In accommodating the extremes of abstraction and of anthromorphism, or controlled precision and unbridled anarchy, the mechanical and the magical, the expansively theatrical and the intensively experimental, it has thwarted tidy classification. Paradoxically the art that relies on movement cannot be accurately termed a movement. |
