Since his impressive showing at the 2009 Venice Biennale is Tomás Saraceno (born in 1973 in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina, lives and works in Frankfurt am Main) is an integral part of the international art scene. His work, like taking the organic structure, the venues, designing scenarios for possible architecture and urbanism of the future. The mostly floating, balloon-like spheres are fixed by a cobweb-like networks in the showroom. They look like overgrown braids and show a fascinating combination of art, science and engineering.
The expression of Tomás Saraceno have suggested in recent years a wide range of manifestations. The book examines the background of the artistic production and supplies in numerous texts of international authors for the first time an art historical context.
With essays by Thomas Bayrle, Bruno Latour, Catherine Schluter and Moritz Wesseler well as a conversation between Tomás Saraceno, Marion Ackermann, Daniel Birnbaum, Udo Kittelmann and Hans Ulrich Obrist. |
