Description |
Architect Rodney Gordon designed Gateshead's Trinity Square shopping centre and car park in 1962 for the Owen Luder firm. It was a bold Brutalist building that made a striking impact on the Gateshead skyline. In 2007 plans were confirmed to regenerate Gateshead town centre resulting in the demolition of Trinity Square. This film documents the final stages of the demolition process over the Summer of 2010, captured on Super 8 film by Sarah Bouttell and Chris Bate with time-lapse video taken by BALTIC Library and Archive from the window of Workplace Gallery. The soundtrack was composed by Gary Malkin.
The film was exhibited in Quay at BALTIC - January to March 2011.
